Dr. Kamya Kameshwar

Nephrologist & General Physician | Lecturer in Medical Education, University of Melbourne

Dr Kameshwar is a dual trained physician in Nephrology and General & Acute Care Medicine. She completed her MBChB degree with Distinction at the University of Auckland, New Zealand (2011); followed by postgraduate specialty training in Melbourne, Australia. 

She possesses experience in general nephrology (including acute and chronic kidney disease), renal replacement therapies (dialysis and transplant medicine) and supportive care. She can also provide comprehensive management of a wide range of acute and chronic general medical conditions, including perioperative care. She has undertaken research throughout specialty training and has multiple publications in scientific journals, which have been presented at a number of national and international scientific meetings. She continues to attend scientific meetings and medical conferences on a regular basis to provide care in keeping with the latest evidence base in her fields of practice.

Lastly, she has a keen interest in medical education and is formally involved in teaching medical students as well as junior doctors at all levels.
