Dr Ashani Lecamwasam

MBBS, GCertClinEd,  GCertPeriopMed, FRACP, PhD

Dr Lecamwasam is a specialist physician in Nephrology and General Medicine, providing care for individuals with kidney disease and general medical needs in both public and private health sectors. Dr Lecamwasam has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Medicine and has over a decade of experience in looking after patients before and after the period of their surgery. 

She completed a Doctoral Thesis (PhD) in Diabetic Chronic Kidney Disease and has more than 15 international publications. Dr Lecamwasam has also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education and teaches junior medical staff and is involved in examining basic physician trainees. She has appointments as an Honorary Fellow and Graduate Research Supervisor in medicine with the University of Melbourne, Austin Health and Royal Melbourne Hospital. 

She also has clinical trial engagement and collaborations with Austin Health and is an associate investigator in industry led clinical trials. She continues to comprehensively integrate medical education, academic research and clinical trials within her scope of clinical practice.
